GSL 2002 year group donates GH¢10,000 to OTC

An amount of GH₵10,000 was on Thursday donated to the Orthopedic Training Centre (OTC) at Nsawam-Adoagyiri, by the 2002 year group of the Ghana School of Law Class.

The organiser of the year group, Mrs AdwoaOhenewaOwoo, who led the team said, it was part of the lineup of activities for the 20th Anniversary celebration of the group.

“The celebration of the group would not have been complete, if a substantial sum of money was not contributed to support the OTC to make an impact in the community,” she said.

Mrs Owoo acknowledged the charity works people were doing in the country and encouraged them to go beyond to do more, and not make donations a onetime activity.

“It is good lots of people donate to organisations but we must all do our best and go beyond, we must not give something just for the moment, we must reach out to what can improve their lives,” she encouraged.

The Public Relations Officer at OTC, Mr Eleazer Kissi Asante, expressed his profound gratitude to the group for its kind gesture to the centre.

“This money would go a long way to lift the burdens on our shoulder for a while, we are grateful for the support to care for the health care, education and wellbeing of the children especially,” he said.

Mr Asante further called for more support from all and sundry to sustain the activities and responsibilities of the centre to provide the needs of the children as one of their basic challenge was financial assistance.

The 60-year OTC aims at supporting and assisting physically challenged persons especially those who are unable to walk.

Also, the centre tries to make some appliances including Artificial Legs, Hands, Back Slaps, Calipers, and Shoes among others, as well provide some trainings and education for such persons to become professionals in the line of making such appliances.
