Agents of Mr Augustus ‘Goosie’ Tanoh, a flagbearer candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have asked the party to stop printing ballots due to some irregularities they have observed.

In a letter addressed to Mr Kofi Attoh, Chairman of the party’s Election Committee, they appealed to the party to engage all agents and resolve all outstanding issues before they continue with the printing.

The signataries of the letter sighted by the Ghanaian Times, are Gabriel Nshyiraba Domson, Aboetakah Elvis-Gracious, Nelson Nuvor and Daniel Omaboe.

Pointing out the alleged irregularities, they said they had not received formal communication concerning the quantity of ballots being printed, the basis for decision as well as guidelines.

In the absence of such information, they said they would be unable to know if there was overprinting of the ballots, a situation which was impeding the effective performance of their duties as agents to ensure free and fair elections.

“We are therefore unable to tell when printing starts or ends, how ballots will be secured, stored and transported or what remedy is available to us when we notice any infractions,” the agents stated.

“We respectively request that ongoing printing be brought to a halt and engagement with all agents commenced to address these issues before we proceed,” the letter stated.
