GoldStar Airline gives to Street Academy

GoldStar Airline, a wholly-owned Ghanaian airline on Monday donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Street Academy.

The donation was to support the school for street children and underprivileged in the fight against Covid-19. 

The items included face shields and nose marks.

The company also presented boxing and hand gloves to the school. 

Making the presentation, the Director in-charge of Cargo at GoldStar Airlines, Nii Ashong Mettle, who presented the items on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Eric Bannerman, said it was part of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

“We are committed to initiatives which emphasises on youth development. There are calls for sports potentials to be developed, promoted and honoured and that is why we are here to demonstrate our love and commitment towards these kids; they are the future,” he said. 

According to him, it was the firm’s desire to see children reach the limit of their potentials, hence the need to protect them against Covid-19.

Mr Mettle said GoldStar will continue to unearth, develop and honour talents in the country. 

Receiving the items, Ataa Lartey, Director of Street Academy thanked GoldStar Airlines for the gesture and assured them it would be put to good use.

Street Academy, a school in existence for over 25 years, uses education through sports, culture to unearth hidden talents of the less-privileged children living on the streets of Accra.
