Goldstar Air donates to Osu Children’s Home

A consignment of assorted children’s items was at the weekend donated to the Osu Children’s Home at Labone in Accra by Goldstar Air in collaboration with Universal Kindness Outreach (UKO), an NGO.

The items including baby dresses, toys, shoes, flasks and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for both children and adults were jointly presented on behalf of the two companies by the President of UKO,  Nii Amoo Dodoo and the Cargo Manager of Goldstar Air, John Ashong Mettle.

Ms Janet Ahiagah of Osu Children’s Home who received the items was grateful to the donors for identifying with the home in such a kind gesture.

“It is our prayers that this gesture will be repeated in future to assist management to cater for the young ones who were at the home through  no fault of theirs.”

The home has contributed its bid towards providing for the less privileged in society, hence the companies need to contribute to the efforts of the orphanage.

She assured the management and staff of both companies that the orphanage would utilise the items to the benefit of the kids, with an appeal to other corporate bodies to lend a helping hand with similar gesture.

Nii Amoo Dodoo said his organisation seeks to restore the dignity and quality of life for people, by eliminating barriers to success through innovative education programmes, entrepreneurial development and community driven projects.

“Guided by these aspirations and those of the people we serve, we pursue this mission with compassion, transparency and generosity,” he noted.

Goldstar Air, Mr Ashong Mettle said, is a Ghanaian owned airline which aims at improving the Ghanaian economy through the provision of affordable and available international travel and create job opportunities for the country.
