Goldstar Air donates PPE to Word of Life Christian Church

As part of its support towards the fight against COVID-19, Ghanaian airline, Goldstar Air on Friday donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Word of Life Christian Church in Accra.

The 25 boxes of PPE which included face shields and nose masks were presented to the Dansoman branch of the church, led by the head pastor, Reverend Dr Isaac Quaye.

The cargo manager of the airline, Mr John Ashong-Mettle, who presented the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Eric Bannerman, said it was their social corporate responsibility to bring safety to the doorsteps of faith-based organisations in order to keep their members from the deadly corona virus.

Mr Ashong-Mettle informed the church leaders that the donation was made to assist the church in its fight against the deadly virus, and that the gesture bears eloquent testimony to the company’s commitment and zeal in the fight against the virus that took us by storm.

He also urged strict adherence to established safety rules and practices to ensure that the deadly COVID-19 pandemic was kept at bay.

Mr Ashong-Mettle said Goldstar Air would provide more benefits to travellers in terms of services and fares as a way of showcasing Ghanaian culture to the rest of the world, and has made adequate provisions to cater for passengers by introducing Ghanaian dishes, local movies, and announcements made in Ghanaian dialects during takeoff and landing.

The items were jointly received by Reverends Benjamin Effah and Fred Morrison Nyamakye and expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Goldstar Air for the gesture and urged other corporate bodies to do same to eradicate COVID-19 from the Ghanaian society.

Later in a short remarks, Rev. Dr Quaye said “Gratitude is a biblical virtue,” God instructs us to be grateful to those who assist us. And those who give to our churches are certainly deserving of our gratitude. Donations like yours make a significant difference in the work our church does in the community, and we are grateful that you have blessed us with your generosity. Our church cannot have an impact or influence in our community without the generosity of people like you.”

“We believe that giving to the local church is one of the best ways to invest your money. It does more than just support local missions and community development. It also demonstrates God’s love by making his work a financial priority in your life,” he added.
