GJA congratulates Theophilus Yartey as Graphic Editor

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has congratulated Mr Theophilus Yartey upon his appointment as Editor of the Daily Graphic Newspaper, a subsidiary of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL).

The GJA expressed excitement over the new role of Mr Yartey as he would bring a new lease of life into the management and operations of the newspaper.

This was contained in a statement signed by the President of GJA, Mr Albert Dwumfour and copied to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.

“As an executive management position of the GCGL, with oversight responsibility over all other news brands of the Group, the GJA believes Mr Yartey would leverage his 30 years of experience in the media to galvanise the staff to rejuvenate the Graphic brands,” the statement said.

He noted that the era of the newspaper business had changed with the advent of new media and general online journalism hence, the need for Mr Yartey and his staff to capitalise on that.

Mr Dwumfour hinted at his outfit’s decision to collaborate with Mr Yartey to enhance the quality of journalism, and promote the tenets of democracy towards the country’s development.

“We do not doubt that Mr Theophilus Yartey will continue to work in the larger interest of corporate Ghana and for that matter GCGL,” the statement said.

The president of the GJA also congratulated Mr Enoch Darfah Frimpong, Editor of Graphic Digital; Madam Hannah Acheampong Amoah, Editor of Junior Graphic; and Mr Asamoah Boahene, Editor of Graphic Business.
