‘Give new Mentor judges a chance‘

Group Head of Events, Entertainment and Lifestyle at Media General, Kenneth Addo, has appealed to the public to give new judges for the season eight of re-launched Mentor a chance to showcase their quality.

This was against the backdrop of some opinions by a section of the public on the absence of Mark Okraku Mantey from the list of judges for the return of Mentor.

The new judges for this year’s edition are musicians, Trigmatic, Bessa Simons & Adina Thembe.

Speaking to The Spectator, Kenneth Addo said, they respected the opinions of others and admitted that Mark Okraku Mantey had been very instrumental from its inception in 2006 to 2013.

This notwithstanding, he appealed to the public to give the new set of judges some chance to show the world their competence and capabilities in the area of music.

According to him, if such opportunity had not been given to the earlier judges, Ghanaians wouldn’t have seen their proficiency to clamour for their return.

On their itinerary for the reloaded Mentor, he said, auditions would commence in Tamale on October 9, then to Kumasi on October 11, Takoradi on October 16, and October 18 and 19 earmarked for that of Accra.

According to him, 24 contestants would be shortlisted after the auditions, and further trimmed to 12 for the commencement of the main event in November.

Mr Addo urged the public to take advantage of the reloaded Mentor to live their dream of becoming established artistes, and win the ultimate prize of two-bedroom house among other mouth-watering prizes.
