‘Ghana Gas coy to execute more projects’

Ghana Gas Company (GGC) will from next year, 2020, execute more projects to spur the next stage of its development.

The Head of Communications of GGC, Mr Ernest Owusu-Bempah, said  so far, the company’s  karpowership project had  produced  470  million megawatts  of power for electricity generation, which  was significant  and beneficial to the country’s  gas value chain.

Mr Owusu-Bempah indicated that the  Sanzule enclave  tie-in would add  another 350 million cubic feet of  gas  with the reverse  flow also supplying  another 60 million  cubic feet  of gas to the Eastern Corridor  as a standby in the event that f  Asogli plant and others  could  not   get supply  from the West African Power Project.

He was speaking at  a press soiree organised by the GGC here  on Saturday,  for journalists,  and also unveil plans  of Ghana Gas for the future.

Mr Owusu-Bempah said Ghana Gas would contribute to national development and provide the foundation for a modern industry.

He said  Ghana Gas had won six awards with,  “Our CEO winning the best in petroleum and oil and gas as well as one of the  best company  among   best three  companies”.

Mr Owusu- Bempah said,  “Going forward,  the sky is  always the  limit,  and I think  we  need your supports so that we  have a good institution  for all  of us”.

He asked journalists to be circumspect about their reportage on the Karpowership project, and always report the facts while seeking the other side of the stories.

Mr Owusu-Bempah said the company had taken the necessary steps to ensure that standards were strictly adhered in executing the KARPOWER project.

“Ghana Gas is one of the few companies in the world that adheres to safety protocols. We are in collaboration with other companies across the world that adopts good standards. We cannot do this project without the required safety protocols in the oil and gas industry.  We need to take   a critical look at that. Our doors are always open,” he added.

Mr Owusu-Bempah said, “Ghana Gas has done so well, and we are looking forward to do more to satisfy the nation and help build the country. But, we cannot do this without adhering to safety standards. We are professionals in what we do.”
