Gambo Bashir, releases ‘Quacha’ single

Ghana’s trap rapper, Gambo Bashir, popularly known in showbiz circles as Gambo, on Wednesday released a single track titled ‘Quacha.’

The song, which was produced by him under his label BlackMob music promotes positivity and happiness among the youth.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra on Tuesday, Gambo stated that many youth want to live a lavish life but failed to work in achieving it.

He said his inspirational track would get them in the groove to rethink about life and become better individuals.

The songwriter advised musicians not to concentrate only on afro pop but should blend trap and hip hop genres to give music lovers variety.

“I could have a trap music but rap in pidgin or any local language to get them to understand what I am saying, so with that fusion it would catch up,” he added.

He bemoaned that musicians in the country were not making enough money and appealed to the sector minister to introduce other incentives to promote the industry.

“Aside streaming platforms, musicians have limited means of gaining money from their art,” Gambo added.

He urged his colleagues to collaborate with other foreign artistes to make their music gain international recognition, that he noted would generate revenue to boost the economy of the country.

The rapper who is pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the University of Ghana, Legon completed Presbyterian Senior High School and started his music career in 2012.

The co-Chief Executive Officer of my Cellphone Repairs, Gambo, urged fans to continue supporting him and promised to keep composing good tracks to inspire the younger generation.

The singer who has plans of helping upcoming musicians said his role models were rapper EL and American rapper Lil Wayne.
