GAA names team for World Championships

The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) has announced a very strong team for the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States.

The 2022 World Athletics Championship is slated for Friday to Sunday, July 24.

In long jump, Deborah Acquahwill aim to lift the flag of Ghana while Benjamin Azamati continues with his good works in 100m.

Joseph Paul Amoah will make amends in the 100m and 200m events with Alex Amankwa set for the 800m event.

Ghana’s Men 4x100m relay team would have Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, Joseph Manu Odoru, Sean Safo Antwi and Emmanuel Yeboah.

Coaches for the team are Christian Nsiah(Professor of Finance and Economics – Baldwin Wallace University) and ElormAmenakpor (Sprint Coach – University of Ghana).

Officials to accompany the team includeAlhaji Hafiz Adam (Leader of the delegation); AbabuAfelibiek (President of the Ghana Athletics Association) and BawahFuseini (Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Athletics Association.
