Frimpong departs Asante Kotoko … slated to join Guinea side

Frimpong - Leaves Kotoko after eight years of dedicated service

KUMASI Asante Kotoko have released Amos Frimpong after eight years of service at the club.

Amos, who joined Kotoko in 2011, has been linked with a move to Guinean side Kaloum Stars, despite having contract with the club.

Sources say Asante Kotoko have decided to release the player because of the good service he rendered to the Asanteman side.

Communications Director of Kotoko, Samuel Sarfo Duku, confirmed the player’s release on Thursday.

“We have released Amos Frimpong. He had an offer from a club in Guinea and asked that management took cognizance to his services to the club for years and allow him to leave.

“Amos Frimpong has served the club well over the years, so, it was only proper that we granted his wish and not put any impediments in his path. He remains a good part of Kotoko’s history and we wish him well in his career.”

Amos, who won 11 trophies with the Porcupine Warriors, is likely to seal his move to Kaloum Stars of Guinea by the end of the week. – footballmadeinghana.com
