Freezy Macbones set for Konate showdown

Ghanaian boxer, Seth Gyimah, alias ‘Freezy Macbones’ will mount the ring this weekend against a Senegalese opponent, Seydou Konate, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The much-anticipated clash promises to be a thrilling spectacle, showcasing raw power, skill, and determination to defeat each other.

It will be a repeat of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying light heavyweight bout which ended in favour of the Senegalese on points in Dakar on September 9.

Gyimah, a rising African boxing star, captivated fans worldwide with his talents, charisma, and quest for greatness.

The 33-year-old, who has 18 amateur fights and two professional bouts under his belt, was left badly bruised in the eyes of the world after the defeat to Konate.

The Senegalese boxer dominated the fight from the start and landed several powerful punches on Gyimah, claiming a unanimous decision of the judges, who scored the bouts 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28 in his favour.

Macbones has endeared himself to the world after sending social media into a frenzy with a chilling knockout win over experienced UK boxer, Darly Sharp, at the Copper Box Arena in London in April 2023.

His ability to adapt to various styles and fearless demeanour coupled with his showmanship outside the ring endeared him to fans, attracting more followers on social media.

But the defeat to Konate led to massive trolls on social media, and for many, this bout is to redeem his image.

The upcoming showdown has generated immense excitement among boxing enthusiasts, who are eagerly anticipating nothing but fireworks.

News from both camps has it that both boxers have been training relentlessly and pushing their bodies to the limit in order to ensure they are in top shape for this face-off.
