Foster Korang shows class … at MTN Invitational Golf tournament

FOSTER Korang led the Men’s Group A, with a total point of 39 to win the first series of the 2019 MTN Invitational Golf Tournament at the Bogoso Golf and Country Club last weekend.

Korang, managed to beat the likes of Yaw Darf, who also returned with a total point of 39, but lost on count-back to place second in the group, which had Elijah Dennis also placing third with 40 points.

In Group B, Moses Eshun finished first with 38points and was followed by Isaac Blanney with 39points and Frank Nsor, also claiming the third spot with 42points.

Martin Cochrane finished first in Group C with 30points followed by Isaac Addae with 33points and Vincent Cardin with 34points in third position.

In the Ladies’ Group A, Agnes Adams defeated the ladies captain of the Bogoso Golf and Country Club, Floria Hurtobise with a total point of 35 while Floria finished with 38points.

In Group B, Ruby Sangah, led the ladies playing with handicaps from 22 to 36, with a total points of 25 and was followed by Francisca Ackah who finished with 29points.

Foster Korang again won the men’s longest drive, while Ben Baah also won the closest to the pin. Rosemond Coggin also won the ladies’ longest drive.

Mr. Mohammed Tiyuniba Mohammed, Regional Senior Manager for South West Business,explained that MTN’s decision to go to Bogoso was in recognition of Golden Star Resources loyalty to the MTN brand all these years and added that he hoped they take their relationship to the next level in 2019 and beyond, for their mutual benefits.

He said, they found the invitational golf engagement very important becausethrough their interactions, they received constructive feedback on their services which they took seriously.

He also thanked all the golfers for honouring their invitation as well as the executive and members of the Ankobra Golf and Country Club for allowing them to use their facilities.
