Floyd Mayweather Snr slams Wilder, Fury

Floyd Mayweather Snr says he won’t train Deontay Wilder ahead of his trilogy bout with Tyson Fury and fears his flaws can’t be fixed.

The legendary trainer went on to admit that he once liked the Bronze Bomber before branding him ‘a piece of trash’.

Wilder and Fury are set to meet for a third time later this year after the Gipsy King triumphed in their rematch in Las Vegas in February.

Wilder was dominated by Fury and was forced to throw in the towel in the seventh round, and Mayweather Snr believes even he couldn’t fix his flaws.

‘Well, I bet on Wilder but he showed me a lot of things that he didn’t know,’ he said on the Mayweather YouTube channel.

‘A lot of people have been asking me to train him. But I don’t know if he can be fixed. There’s a lot of things he’s got to do that I know that he doesn’t know.’

He then proceeded to criticise both fighters, even Fury: ‘Neither one of them really looked like nothing where somebody can come out and really tear up someone.

‘Wilder looked [bad]. I don’t know about those fights. Them guys, they just ain’t got it.

‘I liked Wilder at first. But now I ain’t got nothing to say about him except he’s a piece of trash.’

Mayweather Snr is regarded as one of the best trainers in the world of boxing.

He has trained the likes of Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and his son Mayweather Jnr. -Mailonline
