Farmer in court for robbing colleague of motorcycle

Alanyo Anku, a 19-year-old farmer, resident at Adaklu Sokpe, has appeared before a court for robbing one Albert Agudevi, also a farmer, at Adaklu Asiedukope, of his motorcycle, valued at Gh¢3,500.00.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Stephen Atidzon, told the court presided by Mrs Pricilla Dikro Ofori that on August 21, 2018, at about 6:30pm, the complainant was on his motorcycle to Mati Aziekpe, to buy fuel.

Prosecution said at a section of the road near Adaklu Nukpotoe, Anku stopped the complainant and asked him to transport him to Adaklu Ahunda.

Insp Atidzon said on their way, Anku sprayed powered pepper into the eyes of the complainant, making him blind momentarily.

The prosecution said Anku attacked the complainant, overpowered him and took away his motorcycle.

 Insp Atidzon said the victim, who sustained injury, later reported the case to the police on August 22, 2018, and the accused was later arrested.

Prosecution said further investigation led to the arrest of one Anas Kwame, farmer, and resident of Adaklu Kpatove, who bought the stolen motorcycle from Anku.

 Insp Atidzon said in a cautioned statement, Anku denied robbing the plaintiff, however, Kwame insisted that the recovered motorcycle was sold to him by Anku at a cost of GH¢2,000.00, but on agreement that he work and pay GH¢50.00 a week. – GNA
