Farmer donates to Kwame-Danso SHTS

A farmer, Grace Owusu, on Monday donated food items to Kwame -Danso Senior High Technical School (KDSHTS) in Bono East Region, in support of the Free Senior High Education (FSHE), in the country.

The donation included 220 tubers of yam and five bags of maize towards the feeding of students in the school, as food supplied by the National Buffer Stock alone was not enough.

Presenting the foodstuffs to the management of the school at Kwame – Danso, in the Bono East region, Mrs Owusu said the donation was her widow’s mite to the development of the country.

“As a farmer, I will try my best to provide food items to schools in the Sene enclave in every food harvest season. This will put smiles on the faces of our dear learners,” she stated.

Mrs Owusu indicated that the provision of quality and accessible education in Ghana was a shared responsibility, and the burden should not be put on the government alone.

She appealed to individuals and organisations to contribute to the development of Kwame – Danso, saying the area needed health, education, sports, sanitation and social welfare facilities.

Receiving the donation, the Assistant Headmaster of the school, Abdul Mutalib Ousman, expressed appreciation to Mrs Owusu for the gesture.

He asked philanthropists and institutions to emulate Mrs Owusu and support the school.

A student, John Ntiamoah, on behalf of his mates, promised to study hard, be law abiding and disciplined in order to become good citizens in the future.
