FA to clear refs’ outstanding debts

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo has assured that parts of the debts owed referees of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) would be settled this week.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Sports Show on Saturday, the FA Scribe, Harrison Addo said the FA would begin payments of referees’ travel allowances of match day 5 to 8 this week.

“For payments from match day 5 to match day 8 in the Ghana Premier League for referees, the money will get to the referees next week.”

He also gave his answer on why the full debt has not been paid immediately.

“This is not about money. The GFA is undertaking a number of projects.”

The Ghana Premier League has currently been suspended due to the coronavirus.
