Eriksen’s transfer to Man Utd off

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is reportedly set to stay at Tottenham this summer, ending Manchester United’s hopes of signing the playmaker.

After turning down the chance to sign Paulo Dybala, the Red Devils were said to have made the Dane their top priority.

However, according to TalkSPORT, Eriksen won’t be heading to Old Trafford.

And they believe he will stick with Spurs despite his contract running out in under a year’s time.

Meanwhile, BBC report that United were put off by the midfielder’s preference of a move to Spain.

Given that Spurs wanted £80million for Eriksen, forking out another huge transfer fee for a player who wasn’t desperate to join deterred Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The decision comes after the club made the same call on Dybala.

Juventus may want rid of the attacker, who is also of interest to Spurs, but he would rather stay put in Turin and wants a mega wage to move elsewhere.

Paul Pogba’s future is seemingly intertwined with Eriksen’s at this point of the summer.

Madrid is clear in their desire to sign the Frenchman and the Spurs star is reportedly seen as the next best option.

The theory was that the Dane could replace Pogba at Old Trafford.

It may now instead hold true that Real turn their focus on North London given United’s determination to keep their record signing.

La Liga clubs have until the end of the month to complete deals but the English window shuts on Thursday evening. –Sunsports
