Egypt’s Maher out of U-23 AFCON

The coaching staff of the Egyptian Olympic team is trying to find a solution to face the injuries that hit the team in the first match against Mali.

Egypt defeated Mali 1-0 in the first match of the Under-23 AFCON group stage thanks to Mostafa Mohamed goal.

The Egyptian midfielder, Nasser Maher, had an injury against Mali, a dislocated shoulder and he was excluded from the team’s squad for the rest of the tournament. Also, the attacking duo Salah Mohsen and Mostafa Mohamed suffered minor injuries during the match.

The coaching staff advised in coordination with the fitness coach, Kamal Abdel Wahed, to make a rehabilitation programme for the players.

The international media praised the amazing organisation of Africa U-23 Cup of Nations opening ceremony organised by Presentation Company headed by acclaimed marketing expert Montasser Al Nabarawy.

The famed Egyptian band Sharmoofers, the Egyptian singer Nesma Mahgoub, rocked out at the first part of the dazzling opening ceremony, while the second part witnessed an amazing fireworks show.

The Africa Under-23 Cup of Nations is taking place in Egypt between November 8 and 22. The tournament, qualifying for 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
