The Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has hinted that the country will soon bounce back from the current financial challenges facing it.
He explained that the government’s economic management team was working very hard to turn things around and revamp the economy which had seen a nose-dive as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which had affected the nation’s sources of revenue such as industry and other economic activities and the rest of the world.
Odeneho Appiah hinted last Friday during the constituency’s edition of the delegates’ conference at Kodie, Hemang, Kyerase and Old Atimatim all in the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The four conferences brought together delegates of the party from various zones in the constituency which commenced on Saturday, August 21, 2021, by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) annual delegates’ conference for 2021 across the country.
The one-week event which is being held in all 275 constituencies in accordance with Article 7(27) of the party’s constitution.
Odeneho Appiah used the occasion to launch a national membership registration manual to kick-start the commencement of the registration of membership of the party in the constituency.
He lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for the prudent management of the economy although cash flow was very weak, adding that “now that the economy is stabilising, there is the need for us to support the president to continue with the effort to turn things around to put the economy on a level footing”.
The Deputy Minister of Energy, William Owureku Aidoo, said industry and other businesses were putting in place the right measures to improve their operations.
Christian Adu Poku, the District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South, noted that roads in the area were going to realise massive improvement due to the fact that most of them had been awarded on contract and awaiting the contractors to move to site to begin working.
Mr Poku called on members to use dialogue in resolving every issue that crop up among members and desist from resorting to the media and other avenues to broadcast their issues which did not auger well for the development of democracy of the country.
