In her welcome address, Madam Miriam Ofosu-Appiah said the aim was to instill discipline, patriotism, love and care for one another and the nation into the children as the motto implies.

According to her Ghana, the government was doing her part and it was up to stakeholders in education, and especially the citizenry to also contribute their quota to augment the effort of the government.

She urged parents to do their part for the government to achieve the measures put in place for the children in the educational sector because the benefit would come back to them (parents).

She also urged teachers to put all the skills and knowledge gained during their training to bear so that the children entrusted into their hands would receive better foundation for their future career.

The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Mavis Yirenkyi was full of praise to the children, some them as old as four years marching briskly pass the dais as she took the salute.

She congratulated the teachers for the time spent to train the children and urged them to translate such skills and time into the teaching of the kids.

Explaining the rationale behind the programme, Madam Yirenkyi said the children took part in the celebration because they needed to understand and appreciate the peace being enjoyed now in the nation.
