Discipline gym tops boxing league table

Usher Fort sited Discipline gym leads the latest table of the Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League after nine weeks of action.

The gym tops the table with 11 points from 20 bouts in the league fought fortnightly at several communities of the capital and geared towards taking the sport to every corner of the capital.

Out of the 20 bouts, Discipline gym has won a total of 13, lost seven and drawn four to lead the pack.

Sea View gym located at the Sacred Heart SHS at James Town follows in second position with 10 points from 14 wins, two loses and a draw from a total of 16 fights.

Coach Lartey Lartekwei’s Fit Square gym which is considered one of the favourites follows in third position with 10 points from 11 wins, eight losses and two draws from 20 fights.

The Gym, one of the well equipped gyms in Accra Central, near Enterprise Insurance and Salenko Beach Resort is fourth with eight points from 20 bouts secured from 11 wins, eight losses and two draws.

Surprisingly, the touted gyms for the competition including the Bronx /Accra Boxing Club, Akotoku Academy, Wisdom gym occupy the mid-table slots.

The lower part of the table has BB gym, Attoh Quarshie gym, CSPY, Seconds Out/Akakevor gym, Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation (CQBF), Black Panthers / Bukom Gym, WM and Will Power/Maeskline Gym (WM).

Mr. George Lamptey, the GBF president has since congratulated the boxers and coaches for the performance so far and urged to train harder to end among the best.
