December general elections result must be acceptable to all – Pres

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has  called on all parties to accept the results of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 7, irrespective of whoever wins.

This was after the President had given the assurance to Ghanaians that the polls would be peaceful, free and fair.

According to him, he would not do anything that could destroy the stability of the nation since it was the same process that brought him to power.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo gave the assurance to the chiefs and people of Afadjato South District at Ve Golokwati during the second day of his three-day official working visit to Oti and Volta Regions.

While in the two regions, he inspected government projects, commission completed ones and cut sod for new ones to commence.

The President noted that this year’s election can only be described to be transparent, free and fair when implemented in a peaceful environment of which he was committed to do.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo said Afadjato South even though has gotten its share of development projects, more needed to be done.

He, therefore, called on the chiefs and people to be a little patient for the government to address their entire developmental needs one after the other.

The President was confident that with all the policies and programmes that had been put in place, better days were ahead.

He appealed to the citizenry to be united and have hope in the government.

The President promised a vehicle each to the Ve Senior High School and Agate Senior Technical Shool all in the District.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adu Twum noted that education was key to the development of any nation and, therefore, government was focused on addressing all the challenges associated with the Free Senior High School policy for the benefit of all Ghanaian children.

He said it was worthy to acknowledge that if not for  the Free SHS policy a lot of Ghanaian children couldn’t have had the opportunity to access secondary education.

In his welcome address,Ashui Nyagasi V, Paramount Chief of the Nyagbo Traditional Area, thanked the President for creating new Traditional Councils in the Volta Region of which Nyagbo also benefitted.

He noted that the principle of self reliance which the government calls Ghana Beyond Aid is the only way we could rely and exploit and add value to our natural resources and also eat what we grow that we could develop.

He appealed to the government for an appropriate factory to be established under the One District One Factory programme aimed at industrialization of the districts and the country as a whole.
