‘Dare To Be’ book launched in Accra

A book which chronicles the entrepreneurial journeys of six Ghanaian women was launched last Sunday in Accra.

Christened ‘Dare To Be,’ the book talks about the journeys of Kafui Danku (Filmmaker/Actress), Freda Obeng-Ampofo (Kaeme) and Emi-Beth Quantson (Kawa Moka Coffee).

The rest are Nyame-Nhyiraba Awura Abena Agyeman (Wear Ghana Limited), Aisha Ayensu (Christie Brown), MzVee (Singer, Afropop. Dancehall and R&B artiste).

Authored by Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, the launch of the book was hosted byStrategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa), a communication and reputation management agency.

Ms Cobbah indicated that the book detailed the authenticity of each of the women in pursuing their dreams, challenges encountered, how they persevered and developed their skills as well as how they kept to their faith.

She stressed that she was hopeful that the stories of the women would serve as examples to other young women, as well as men, to use resources around them to initiate and sustain enterprises.

Ms Cobbah therefore used the opportunity to advise young girls particularly to be motivated by the examples of the women whose journeys have been detailed in her book.

Mrs Sharon Anim, Manager of Communications at Stratcomm Africa, said that her organisation which was birthed by a woman was “committed to employing its communication capabilities to tell these stories of the unrelenting pursuit of excellence, hard work, resilience and perseverance in developing and sustaining entrepreneurial dreams.”

She underscored that sharing such stories could make the country dynamic and economically vibrant as more youth would actively seek to put the resources around them into thriving enterprises that create much needed jobs and enhance livelihoods in the society.

The women whose entrepreneurial journeys were profiled interacted with the audience and shared with them first-hand insights about their entrepreneurial experiences.

They also autographed copies of the book for those present and took pictures with several of them.
