Dansoman police record reduction in crime

PThe Dansoman Divisional Police Command has recorded a reduction in crime cases in the first quarter of this year.

It recorded 1,189 crime cases in the first quarter as against 1,589 the previous year, representing a 25 per cent reduction.

The cases recorded, included stealing, defrauding by false pretense, street robbery and threat of death.

The Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent (Chief Supt) Isaac Kwando Asante, revealed these at the Command’s West African Security Services Association (WASSA) in Accra last Friday, to take stock of activities.

Chief Supt Asante said the reduction in crime cases was as a result of proactive measures such as day and night patrols and public sensitisation.

The Divisional Police Commander urged Ghanaians to support the police to tackle political vigilantism, and other crimes.

Chief Supt Asante called for a renewed partnership between the public and the police to ensure effective fight against crime.

The guests, including the Municipal Chief Executive of Ablekuma West Municipal, Mr George Bray, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, Alfred Okoe Vanderpuijie, and traditional rulers were thrilled with soothing music from the Police Central band.

Mr Bray commended the police for ensuring peace and stability in the country, and urged them not to rest on their oars.

He gave the assurance that the assembly would support the police achieve their goals.
