Criticism on NDC MPs: Attacking MPs can cause NDC 2024 electoral victory – Duffuor cautions

Flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has cautioned against acts he believes may sow disunity and wrangling in the party in the wake of the approval of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s six ministerial nominees in Parliament.

He called on the leadership, members and supporters of the NDC to come together in order to work hard to win power in the 2024 elections.

Dr Duffuor cautioned after some NDC MPs were publicly vilified for failing to reject the six ministerial nominees on March 24, 2023 as directed by the party.

According to him, it was clear the country was in extremely difficult position, and downsising the government was in the interest of the citizenry however, he warned against the use of negative language towards the MPs.

“While it may be tempting to vent our frustrations in this way, I do not believe it will help us find solutions to our challenges and reach common ground that will position our great party for victory in 2024 so let us strive to approach issues at hand with dignity, respect, come together in spirit of sobriety and work towards finding way out of this difficult situation since a united house stands tall, but a divided one crumbles and falls,” Dr Duffuor postulated.

He announced his intention to contest for the flagbearer of the NDC when nomination opened and was poised to lead the party to bring back the era of economic resilience for citizens and to offer himself once again to serve the country with humility and sacrifice when given the chance to do so.

“The temporary shifts we have grown used to in our country must give way to permanent change in attitude and priorities so as to witness the dawn of a new era, where country trumps person and progress trumps power which should be an era for all which is the era of ‘The Ghanaian Dream’.

“Let us rescue our economy to end the hardships, pain and suffering of our fellow Ghanaians because we are a great nation and we have capacity to rebuild our economy again as we did during 2009 to 2012,” Dr Duffuor intimated.

He has launched a grassroots party empowerment and a self-financing project dubbed: ‘The Ahotor Project’ for the NDC.

The project is geared towards setting up all 275 constituencies with micro-businesses in order to create local cash flow for the day-to-day running of the NDC party at the grassroots level.
