CPP taking steps to outdoor manifesto – Ivor Greenstreet to critics

proofed

Flag bearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has stated that the party is taking steps towards the outdooring of its manifesto ahead of the 2020 elections.

“Though delayed, the party believes they are not alone as even the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken months to outdoor its manifesto after they acclaimed their flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, of course, the largest opposition party which elected its flag bearer months ago, launched theirs yesterday.

“They have brought no policies, programmes and social interventions except recently talking about a few policies where they are presenting to the citizenry, and this is a party which has been in government before, so what were they doing for three years?” Mr Greenstreet quizzed.

He was emphatic about the CPP’s plans to launch their manifesto and subsequently select a running mate for the upcoming December 7, polls and the new set of executives who were elected on August 22, 2020, he is confident, would successfully roll out strong and strategic policies, programmes and social interventions for the Ghanaian populace within a few weeks.

“We have internal research and political affairs committees, political affairs and they’ve been doing some of the work but now that a new leadership has been elected, they are going to present the manifesto to the citizens and electorate, obviously we can’t wait till December, we’ll come out immediately with our policies, programmes and social interventions so that within the next two weeks we can come out clearly with our position on various issues.

“Clearly we have to plan schedules and dates for various activities, running mate, manifesto, and rolling out of this proposal of ‘A vote for CPP is a vote for yourself’, and key policy statements that we’ll have to come out with,” Mr Greenstreet assured.

The two-time CPP flag bearer noted that Coronavirus (COVID-19) had affected the pace of work for the party but was optimistic the new team would work against the clock to facilitate work saying “because we are behind time with COVID-19, we will have to do them quicker, work harder and faster, fortunately, there already exists foundation of work already we can draw from.” -ghanaweb.com
