Council of State member renovates Kecheibi School at Nkwanta South

Council of State Member representing the Oti Region, Mr Richard K. Atikpo, has renovated the Kecheibi Primary School in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the region.

The refurbishment which also saw the donation of 100 dual desks to the school was part of activities to mark Mr Atikpo’s 40th birthday celebrated over the weekend.

The school, which is a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centre with a population of over a 1000 students was in a very poor state and required urgent renovation.

Mr Atikpo, who is also Board Chairman of Legon Cities Football Club, said the gesture was part of efforts to improve upon the standards of education in the area.

“Education is key to the success of many and I hope to do the little I can to help my region. Government must be supported to invest in the growth of the sector,” he stated.

He urged individuals and corporate entities to come on board to support the sector in order to train responsible persons for the country.

On his part, the Head of Finance and Administration at the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Nkwanta South Municipality, Damson Mawuena, expressed his gratitude to Mr Atikpo for his benevolence.

He also appealed to the persons in Ghana and beyond to come to their aid with a lot more support for the municipality and the region at large.
