Christians must reflect spirit of humility-Rev. Bezo

Christians must reflect on the ‘spirit of humility’ as they celebrate Easter, Rev. Father Anthony Bezo, had admonished.

He stated that Jesus humbled himself, came down into the world and even died an innocent death.

Rev. Fr Bezo gave the admonishment when he delivered the homily at the Christ the King Catholic Parish Church, Effiakuma in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region, to celebrate Palm Sunday, yesterday.

“We must all be humble like Christ as we reflect on the Eucharist (the Communion) which is the body and blood of Christ. Let’s pray that God will grant us the spirit of humility in our homes, workplaces, our churches and in our communities,” he added.

Rev. Bezo said the attitude of ‘not letting go’ and the  lack of  humility, he explained,  had led some Christians into ‘acts of grabbing’ in all places, adding that pride was  like  a  yeasted bread which gets bloated when baked, but, shrunk when it was pressed.

“You must be seen like Christ Jesus and change your mindset and have the spirit of humility. He humbled himself, came down and even died because of us. He, who is higher and above us, came down. If we believe in him then, we must be humble.” Rev. Fr Bezo said.

Earlier, Rev. Fr Thaddeus Apetorgbor led the congregation to enact the Passion of Jesus Christ.
