Children urged to learn hard

The E.P. Church Nungua, Amenuveve Chapel, celebrated Children’s Day last Sunday under the theme “Call on the Lord at all times”.

Rev. Wisdom Seloame Alorvi the District Pastor of Nungua and the clerk of the Meridian Presbytery who made the call urged the children to learn hard and to take their books seriously to enable them develop their God given talents.

He said children were precious gifts from God and every parent must value the gift as such.

Rev. Alorvi called on parents to endeavour to pay every price for the up keep of their children.

He finally advised children to be God fearing and to show respect to everybody they come across.

As part of activities to mark the day the Sunday school children took charge of all church activities for the day.

They performed drama, did bible dialogues, poetry recital and preached the sermon.

Patricia Togoh, a Sunday school child, preached the sermon based on the Covenant Abraham had with God, and related it to the way children should be obedient to their parents and to keep up the best type of relationship with them.

She said they had confidence in their parents as Abraham had in God.  By so doing they will be blessed in all they do.

She called on all children to be good Christians, law abiding and to show respect to everyone they come across.
