The Accra Circuit Court, yesterday adjourned to February 1, the case involving Saint John Walker, alleged fake pastor, accused of stealing GH¢60,000.
Lawyer for the alleged pastor, Ms Grace Garner, was not present in court.
Detective Chief Inspector Abdulai Sulemana of the East Legon Police, Accra, is expected to continue with evidence to the court on February 1.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing, when he earlier appeared before the court presided over by Emmanuel Essandoh.
Saint Walker allegedly collected GH¢60,000 from Maame Dufie, a businesswoman, who owed the complainant, MrsDarling Tuffour, GH¢100,000.
The facts are that MrsTuffour lent GH¢100,000.00 to Maame Dufie, which she (Dufie) failed to pay, and the two stopped talking to each other.
The accused took advantage of the situation and collected GH¢60,000 from MaameDufie, claiming he was asked by the complainant to take the money.
Later, the complainant, asked her son to collect the money from Dufie, only to be told that she (Dufie) had paid GH₵60,000.00 in two installments to accused.
Mrs Tuffour reported the matter to the East Legon police, leading to the arrest of Saint Walker.
