CAIKA Foundation launched to support needy, vulnerable in society

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) operating within the Weija community and its environs in the Greater Accra Region was last Saturday launched, a statement copied the Ghanaian Times said.

The CAIKA Foundation seeks to save lives, defeat poverty through education, skills training, financial support and mentoring.

Launching the Foundation at Kokrobite in the Ga South Municipality, the Executive Director, Chief Apostle Isaac Karikari Attorah, said his decision to establish the foundation was “an idea and assignment God gave him time back” and with support from his partners they had been able to mobilise support for the needy and neglected persons in the society.

He said through the initiative they had supported many brilliant but needy kids from basic school to the university level, adding that they had also reached out to some widows and single mothers with clothes, shoes and financial support within their catchment area.

Chief Apostle Attorah also used the occasion to distribute 50 pieces of water filters (which cost $50 each) to be given to 50 households in deprived communities. The filters gives 99.9 per cent clean water and can be used for about 10 years.

He also selected 12 needy persons to be given financial support by the foundation to start or expand their businesses as part of the foundation’s vision to alleviate poverty in the community.

The beneficiaries thanked the foundation and its partners for reaching out at this time of financial crisis.
