The aspiring Assin South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Effah Nkyi, has underscored bridging the gap between the government and the grassroots will propel the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain power in 2025.
He stressed the need to unite the grassroots and foot soldiers to help propagate the good works of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government and the ideals of the party in order to win the next elections convincingly.
Mr Nkyi, who is contesting the constituency chairmanship race unopposed, called on leadership of the party to critically address petty squabbles, acrimony, backbiting and internal wrangling to foster peace, unity, harmony and cohesion in the party so that disgruntled members would bury their differences and ensure unity of purpose to retain power and break the eight-year political party mantra.
He indicated that the party’s stronghold in the area was Assinman, and tasked unifiers and people with excellent human relations within the rank and file of the party to team up to win more members to the party since politics was about numbers adding that “my strategy is to divide the Assin South Constituency into six zones with befitting offices to operate and address concerns and needs of the youth.
“When given the nod, I will liaise with Reverend Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for the area, Felicia Ntrakwa, the District Chief Executive and Robert Kutin, the Central Regional Chairman of the party to build a formidable front that would enable the party win convincingly the next election,” Mr Nkyi assured.
He entreated members, supporters, sympathisers and well-wishers of the elephant fraternity to guard themselves against ‘hearsays’ and build an effective and efficient communication system in the party and bring back confidence and trust in leadership and also appealed to the candidates to campaign devoid of insults and acrimony. -GNA
