Bofoakwa maintain dominance in DOL

Leaders Tano Bofoakwa produced a sweet comeback to beat Wamanafo Mighty Royals 2-1 in Zone 1B of the Division One League (DOL) played at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Kyeremeh Bismark fired the visitors into the lead but two goals from Bofo’s Leslie Aryeetey in both halves ensured they kept their spot intact.

It was one of the finest games of the home team this season.

Goals poured out at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon when Golden Kick secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Mighty Jets in Week 14 of the 2022/23 Division One League (DOL) Zone 3.

The hosts needed a win to improve their position on the league table, having drawn 1-1 with Nania FC on Week 13.

Edward Bentum got the lead for Golden Kick in the 36th minute before Mighty Jets drew parity three minutes later.

Bless Ege’s 39th-minute equaliser saw the game end 1-1 at halftime. Back from recess, it was a fairly-balanced game with either side struggling to break down their opposition’s defenders.

However, an intense final 10 minutes produced three goals with the home side securing a vital win.

Dacosta Owusu restored the lead for the Golden Kick in the 79th minute.

However, a determined Mighty Jets side would not go down without a fight as Gordon Cudjoe equalised for the Tudu-based side a minute into additional time.

With the game all set to end in a draw, Ezekiel Nettey scored a stoppage-time winner to give Golden Kick maximum points against Tudu Mighty Jets.

At the Tema Sports Stadium on Friday, Attram De Visser cruised pass Liberty Professionals 3-1.

Goals from Nathaniel Lamptey, Richard Apokum and Reginald Thompson gave the debutants an emphatic victory over the former Premier League candidates. William Oduro pulled one back for Liberty.
