Berekum Chelsea to worry Hearts

Accra Hearts of Oak will be fired up to bounce back from their slip last week, as they face off with Berekum Chelsea in their match-day 17 betPawa Ghana Premier League fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium today.

The Phobians who were enjoying an impressive outing, were defeated 1-0 by Real Tamale United (RTU) in their last fixture to halt their recent resurgence under Serbian coach Matic Slavko.

The result also dislodged the Phobians from their top four position to sixth on the league table with 25 points, six behind league leaders Aduana Stars.

Another slip-up would be a huge blow to Hearts who would be determined to get back to top spot and keep their title ambitions on track.

The likes of Kwadwo Obeng Jnr, Eric Esso and new boy Linda Mtange had been instrumental for coach Slavko’s side and would set up to give their host a tough time in attack.

With the likes of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Bechem United and Accra Lions exhibiting some decent football and focused on top four places, Hearts must endeavour to secure all three points.

The home fans would also be hoping to brush aside their disappointment last week and look forward to a vital win at home.

Berekum Chelsea on the other hand, made a huge statement last week despite a slow start to the season and a win against Hearts would be a huge boost to their resurgence.

Currently 10th on the league table with just three points behind Hearts, a win would ensure they catch up with the Phobians and set themselves in a good position to perhaps compete for top four.

Known for their resilience, Berekum Chelsea would be determined to upset Hearts and walk away with a point or perhaps all three points to keep their campaign back on track.

Both teams should be desperate for the three points and certain to serve football lovers with some delectable football in the process.

In other interesting games for the weekend, Dreams FC would host Kotoko at the Dawu Park on Sunday for an appetising showdown at the Theatre of Dreams.

Kotoko, however, would be a handful for the hosts after their dominance against Accra Lions last week, to walk away with a 4-0 victory, climbing second on the league table.

Dreams were able to snatch a late equaliser against Accra Great Olympics and should be hoping to find a win at home to stop Kotoko’s run.

In other games, King Faisal play host to RTU at Kumasi with Samartex set to battle it out with Legon Cities in Samreboi.

Tamale City will square off with Medeama at the Tamale Stadium while Nsoatreman welcome Olympics to the Nsoatre Park for another interesting encounter.

Elsewhere, Karela will host Kotoku Royals at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, while Accra Lions do battle with Bibiani Goldstars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday
