BAC Group launches ‘All Star Festival 2023’ in Sunyani

The Business Africa Consulting Group (The BAC Group) has launched the 2023 All Star Festival in Sunyani in the Bono region.

Following the success story of the first edition in June 2022, the All Star game which has evolved into a festival, will be hosted by the Bono, Bono-East and Ahafo regions.

They will take part in the All Star festival from Bechem to Dormaa with a series of activities scheduled for June 20-22.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BAC Group, Dr Ernest Koranteng, explained that the decision to organise the 2023 edition of the festival in the region was to celebrate the contributions of the region to Ghana football over the decades. 

“The region has contributed immensely towards development, producing a good number of administrators, footballers and clubs, and as well as very passionate fans.”

“From iconic Captains of the national teams such as Kwasi Owusu ‘Power House’, Kwasi Appiah ‘Mayele’, Alex Opoku who led Ghana to a first FIFA World Cup success (Black Starlets 1991) and Asamoah Gyan “Baby Jet”, the top scorer in the history of Ghana football, the region has played a big role.”

The event would have other activities including a float on the principal streets of Bechem in the Ahafo region on June 20, followed by The Sports Business Series (SBS), a conference on Football Business powered by The BAC Institute in Sunyani. 

Dr Koranteng said the festival will undertake a CSR project in Techiman in the Bono East Region with the provision of water to improve the popular TACO Park followed by a gala night on June 21 in Sunyani to honour legends.

He said on June 22, the President of the Bono Traditional Council, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Nana Agyemang Badu II,will lead a special durbar to welcome the players led by Black Stars Captain, Andre Ayew.

Later in the day, a select side of betpawa Premier League and Access Bank Division One League players from 16 clubs from the three regions will take on an All Star side led by Ayew, and coached by international guest and former Chelsea and Ghana manager, Avram Grant.

Consequently, a 10-member Local Organising Committee has been inaugurated by Mr Frank Nelson, a Director of Accra Hearts of Oak.

The members include Mr Ransford Antwi, Mrs Evelyn NsiahAsare, Mr Bismark Oppong, Mr Precious Semevoh, Mr Alexander Obeng, Mr Alexander Ababio, Miss Vida Yenube, Mr Felix ObengFosu, Mr Dickson Kyere-Dua and Mr Amo Gyamfih.
