B/E Regional Minister commends police for enhanced security

The Bono East Regional Minister, Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan, has commended the efforts of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, for ensuring an enhanced security in the region.

Mr Adu Gyan said this yesterday at an end-of-year get-together party organised by the Bono East Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service (GPS), at Techiman.

The event was to entertain, congratulate and motivate the rank and file of security officers, for an effective policing last year in the Bono East Region and beyond.

It was attended by members of the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Ambulance Service, National Investigation Bureau, journalists and officials of the Bono East Regional Co – ordinating Council (RCC).

“I can recall an instance where Dr Dampare responded urgently to my plea to beef up security personnel in the region. Additional officers were sent to us to compliment our men,” Mr Adu Gyan noted.

The Regional Minister expressed gratitude to security agencies in the Bono East Region for ensuring a relatively peaceful and stable living environment last year through collaborative efforts among themselves saying we expect a lot from you this year.

Mr Adu Gyan implored security officers in the region to showcase professionalism, unity, love and commitment in dispensing their duty in 2022 and beyond for the socio-cultural development of the region.

The Bono East Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Moses Atibilla, said his outfit needed to dine together with other agencies to foster unity and teamwork.

DCOP Atibilla indicated that crime had reduced drastically in the region, attributing it to “oneness” from all the security agencies, saying “there is power and accomplishment in unity.”

“I thank the IGP for resourcing the security details in the region with officers and logistics including communication gadgets. This has made us more efficient,” the Regional Commander noted.

DCOP Atibilla was grateful to Mr Adu Gyan and the RCC for supporting the operation of the regional command adding that “the Regional Minister did not interfere in the security issues in the region, making it a motivation for us”.

The Regional Commander pledged a professional and dedicated policing in the region in 2022 and admonished residents to provide credible information to the police and other agencies in order to ensure a peaceful living.
