Ayawaso Muslim community holds annual Maulid, Qur’an recitation

 The Ayawaso Annual Maulid and Qur’an Recita­tion (Adu’a) was last Sat­urday organised at Kanda under the leadership of Khalifa Sheikh Imam Mustapha Yaajalal,who is the Greater Accra Tijjaniya Mus­lim Movement leader and Imam of Islamic Training Institute Mosque at Kanda, a suburb of Accra.

The Maulid celebration was attended by prominent person­alities, including the National Chief Imam, Sheikh (Dr) Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the leader of Tijaniyya Muslim Movement of Ghana, Sheikh Abdul- Wadud Harun and the leader of Sheikh Chota fraternity in Ghana, Sheikh Shuaib and leadership of the Shia Muslim Community, according to a statement copied the Ghanaian Times by the planning committee of the event.

The Annual Maulid and Qur’an recitation seek to bring all stakeholders together to pro­mote unity and togetherness.

It was interspersed with lectures, thanksgiving to Allah and praises to the Prophet of Islam, Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Muslim community prayed to Allah seeking his blessings of peace, unity, reli­gious co-existence and pros­perity for the country, as well as offered prayers for Allah to forgive the souls of departed ones.

The occasion was also graced by Zongo chiefs, Imams, women groups, students and many more.

Khalifa Sheikh Imam Mus­tapha Yaajalaal and the planning Committee expressed apprecia­tion for the high turnout of the Muslim community who made their time to participate in all the programs, and especially the Ghana police service through the Nima Divisional police com­mander for providing security at the events.
