The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ayawaso East, Hajia Salma Adams, yesterday presented furniture to some schools in the municipality.
The items included 300 dual desks, 390 mono desks and 48 teachers’ table and chairs.
Presenting the items, Hajia Adams stated that this was the second presentation by the municipality to the schools.
“Early last year, we presented some furniture to this school and other schools,” she said.
She also promised to pave the school compound and distribute a refuse container for a clean environment.
The Municipal Director of Education, Hajia Ramatu Gariba, receiving the furniture on behalf of the schools, expressed gratitude and stressed to keep the furniture in good shape.
“We are grateful after appealing for the furniture which they provided us with quality ones, thus we are going to emboss and distribute them to the various schools,” she noted.
She stated that the furniture would relieve students of the discomfort during lesson hours.
“The mono desks would reduce examination malpractices amongst the students, especially those in their final year,” she stated.
Hajia Gariba said that the activities of the municipality were very promising hence working with them would be a fruitful one.
“Recently, the MCE has refurbished some of our buildings and the kindergarten classrooms are ventilated as well,” she added.
