Ayawaso Central NPP delegates submit forms for MP

Tens of New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates and supporters in the Ayawaso Central Constituency of the Greater Accra region on Friday picked and submitted nomination forms for the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Henry Quartey, to contest the party’s parliamentary primary in the constituency.

The delegates who matched through some principal streets amidst funfair were of the view that the MP deserved a third tenure to represent them, following his tremendous contributions to the constituents and the party.

They paid an amount of GH ¢2,000 for the forms and instantly filled and presented it to the Constituency Election Committee at the constituency party office at Alajo, a suburb of Accra.

Presenting the form to the Election Committee after filling, a leading member of the NPP, Sheikh I.C. Quaye encouraged all delegates to vote massively for Mr Henry Quartey.

He explained that the MP deserved a third time following his ability to canvass votes for the party and his humility and dedication to the constituents.

Abudul Rasheed Kamawa Sambo, a Polling Station Agent and Aid to the MP said the delegates’ voluntary raised funds to finance the payment of the forms.

He explained that the gesture was to appreciate the marvellous contributions of the MP for creating jobs and bringing development to the people of Ayawaso Central.

The Election Committee Chairman for Ayawaso Central, Alhaji Haruna Salifu said, nomination was opened for eligible candidates who wanted to contest the primary, stressing that, no qualified candidate would be denied from contesting.
