Awoamefia lauds govt for improving livelihoods

The Awoamefia
of the Anlo State in the Volta Region, Torgbui Sri III, has lauded the government’s
efforts to accelerate the development of the country to enhance the livelihoods
of the citizenry.
He refuted claims that “the New Patriotic
Party (NPP) is not putting in much effort to develop the country but the
numerous completed and ongoing projects is enough evidence to indicate the
government is dedicated, determined and committed to deliver on its
mandate.
Torgbui Sri III who chaired a maiden town hall
meeting noted that, “It is needless to say that the government is not doing its
very best, all that I have seen so far surprises me,
it is a fact not open to dispute that the government
is doing well, I urged the citizenry to support and assist the government to
deliver exceedingly on its development and Ghana Beyond Aid agendas aimed at
improving the livelihoods of the citizenry.”

Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister of Information, reiterated policies and programmes
being implemented by the government which had contributed to transform more
lives in the history of the country in the last decade which had been made
possible through the implementation of strong and robust social intervention
programmes.
He illustrated the provision of free second
cycle education, enrollment in the health sector, stable power supply to drive
productivity, 100,000 unemployed graduates recruited under the Nation Builders
Corps (NaBCo), school feeding, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty programme
among others.
“In two-and-a-half years the government has touched more lives than has been done in any other time in our country in the last 10 years due to the government’s commitment to build a strong macroeconomic foundation to propel growth and development of the private sector,” Mr Nkrumah stressed. -ghanaweb.com
