Asunafo South DCE inaugurated teachers quarters at Anwiankwanta

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asunafo South, Frank Adusei Poku, on Friday inaugurated a Teachers quarters at Anwiankwanta in the Ahafo Region.

The four-bedroom accommodation project was funded by the Middle Belt Development Authority (MBDA) under the One million per constituency (IM – 1C) infrastructure policy of the government.

Mr Adusei Poku noted that the facility was part of policies of the Asunafo South District Assembly (ASDA) to better the living conditions of teachers in the area especially those in rural communities.

The DCE indicated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo was committed to improving teaching and learning to ensure the socio-economic development of the country.

“I thank the Minister of Education, Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum, and the Ghana Education Service (GES) Council for the introduction of good educational reform programmes. This will correct the imbalances in the sector,” he stated.

Mr Adusei Poku urged teachers in the district to work hard to complement the government’s efforts of raising standards, improving access, and providing quality and affordable education in the country.

The DCE encouraged public, private and informal sector workers, Nananom and Religious leaders among other stakeholders to contribute their quota to the growth of the area, saying that together we can build.

Mr Adusei Poku said it was the mission of ASDA to mobilise resources to provide basic social amenities, and to create an enabling environment for wealth creation through commitment and hardwork.

The District Finance and Administration Officer, Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Asare Bediako, expressed appreciation to the government for reducing the accommodation challenges facing teachers in the area.

Nana Yaw Kusi, the chief of Anwiankwanta, implored the beneficiary teachers to ensure routine maintenance of the facility in order to last longer.
