Assin North Assembly employs new ways to transform c’nities

The Assin North District Assembly has anchored on four thematic areas to transform communities to attract investment to create jobs and wealth for the youth and improve livelihoods.

They were Road Development, Basic Education Development, Youth Development and Sanitation.

The assembly will also organise knowledge, skill training for the unemployed youth, women, towards acquisition to enable them to fit into the job market and become self-reliant to accelerate progress, growth and development.

Charles Ohene Andoh, the District Chief Executive for Assin North, who gave the assurance in his sessional address at the Assembly’s ordinary meeting at Assin Bereku, expressed the assembly’s commitment, dedication and determination to transform the district by developing the road network.

“It will ensure that all outstanding road projects are vigorously pursued to the latter, to boost business and economic activities in the district which include Bereku, Akonfudi, Kushea, Sienchiem, Akonfudi-Akpoli-Ningo road, and Odumase junction to Asibrim,” he said.

On education, Mr Andoh underscored the region is endowed with great schools and would engage all stakeholders to work assiduously to ensure that teaching and learning in basic schools were enhanced, and tasked teachers to adequately prepare the students to enable them get admission into the best schools in the region.

He charged the District Director of Education to step up rigorous supervision in schools to check teacher absenteeism and lackadaisical attitude towards work and would re-visit its monthly ‘sanitation day campaign and operation clean the highways’ to clean the district and also plant ornamental trees along the main roads to beautify the communities and towns. -GNA
