Assembly member to contest parliamentary primaries

The Assembly member for Adjen Kotoku Electoral Area in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Henry Nii Chartey Marbell, has announced his decision to contest in the 2024 parliamentary election for the Amasaman Constituency.

He will be contesting on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with eight other aspirants.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Times in an interview on Thursday in Accra, Mr Marbell said his works in the electoral area and in the constituency were evident for all to see.

He said “I have been working at the grassroots for over 23 years for the NDC and my contributions have been enormous and also served as the assembly member for the past eight years.”

Mr Marbell was of the view that he would win the nod to represent the people of Amasaman because members, supporters and faithful of the party especially the youth strongly believed he was the best candidate for the NDC and would be able to garner more votes for the NDC in the constituency.
