The Ashanti Warrior appear motivated for the upcoming fight, coming days after calling on the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, and receiving his blessings.

“I feel very good and well-conditioned for the task ahead. Meeting the Asantehene was an opportunity of a lifetime; that should spur me on to achieve greater things,” he said.

As the current holder of the LBO Intercontinental featherweight title, Nyantakyi hopes to add the national title to his collection and believes that his opponent, Quartey, who is a former multiple titlist cannot derail his ascent.

“This will be a difficult battle for me but I’m confident I will emerge triumphant. I know what Quartey with his experience will bring on board but I am fully equal to the task,” he said.

According to the Ashanti Warrior, having annex the LBO title, his attention was to also cement his legacy on the local scene by winning a national strap, and has asked boxing fans in the region to attend the fight in their numbers.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Osibor Boxing Management and Promotions, Mr Gordon Frimpong, promises patrons an exceptional show and urged all to come on board and help Ghana boxing grow.

Mr Frimpong also hinted on plans to stage a mega boxing show in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Sagrenti war.
