ARS marks 83 years of existence

The 83rd Missionary Anniversary of the Church of the Apostles Revelation Society, (ARS) was held at New Tadzewu-Gbedzi in the Keta North District in the Volta Region on Sunday.

The week-long programme had in attendance over 100,000 members.

It was graced by a retinue of Chiefs from Dededo including Torgbui Azadagli I, Torgbui Kpeli Toklo II, Torgbui Alormeto Fia, Mama Baname Agba I and emissaries from the Anlo Traditional Council led by Torgbui Subo II.

The colorful ceremony aside the numerous devotions and daily church services was spiced with melodious songs from the Gbedzie Mass Band and the various choir groups from Dededo, Sogakope, Ada, Abelemkpe, Alhaji Chantan, Ashaiman and  Battor.

The others are from Tema, Anyako, Agbozume, Ashigbekope, Madina, Neva-Eme, Abor, Ando, Dededo, Kpetoe, New Tadzewu and the Republic of Togo.

The 12 officiating clergy were led by the administrator, Apostle C.K Attipoe and Apostle I.K. Axorlu.

Apostle Attipoe in his welcome address commended the members and guests especially the Chiefs and other personalities for leaving their busy schedules to celebrate with the church.

He said 83 years of a church’s existence is no mean achievement and urged the congregation to constantly seek the face of God to have their challenges resolved.

“Whatever we asked from God shall surely be provided as prayer is the key to all solutions towards giving thanks for answered prayer,” he added.

Apostle Attipoe said the authority given to speak was from God, explaining that the Founder and Late Prophet C.K.N. Wovenu handed the church to the Apostles in 1995 of which he was one of them.

According to him, the directive tasked the Apostles to take good care of the church, abide by all rules, not take sides or not sack any member, not to work for themselves and also ensure that the welfare of members were paramount to everything they did.

These rules the administrator stated was what they were holding until date as symbol of authority given to them.

Apostle Attipoe urged the various leaders to abide by these principles and continue with the good works and admonished those doing the contrary to change as God was watching so that they would not fall by the way side.

The Paramount Chief of Dededo Torgbui Azadagli commended the church for supporting and transforming the community and the lives of the people.

The church he said, has transformed the lives of a lot of the people who hitherto were not Christians and asked for God’s blessing and unity for the community.

Torgbui Subo II, on behalf the Anlo Traditional Council said the Historic Hogbetsotso Festival had erased the perceived rift between the Anlos and the Ashantis.

The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, James Klutse Avedzi, who led the National Democratic Congress team on behalf of the former President John Dramani Mahama donated an amount of GH¢ 7,000 towards the anniversary.

Apostle A.C Nyamador in a sermon urged the members to prepare themselves for the last days as the Judgement day was at hand and urged an end to heinous crimes.
