ARS Gbedzi celebrates 84th anniversary at New Tadzewu

Thousands of members of the Apostle Revelation Society (ARS) have converged at Gbedzi, New Tadzewu in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the church.

The week-long event was organised with the theme: ‘Fear not, for I am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my mighty right hand.’

The members used the occasion to observe the feast of pass-over, undertake torchlight processions, nocturnal devotions and church services, general cleaning, choral exposition and cultural drumming.

The celebrations which had one of the largest gathering in the history of the church attracted several prominent Ghanaians including traditional authorities, religious organisations and some politicians including the 2020 running mate of the NDC, Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyeman who led the National Democratic Congress delegation.

It was also spiced by melodious tunes from the numerous choir groups from branches from within and outside the country.

Apostle Worlanyo Adabra in his sermon, entreated members to be steadfast in their prayers because God is always with them.

He stated that God has always been there for them and as such must be grateful so that all their burdens will be washed away.

Apostle Adabra urged the sick, those in debt, and the distraught to put those burdens on the shoulders of the Almighty because he would address their concerns.

“Those going through difficulties, all types of challenges including indebtedness must know that they would not go back home the same,” he added.

The administrator of the church, Apostle C. K. Attipoe speaking on the theme, said the church has gone through a lot, hence the chosen theme to give members the hope to stand firm and rely on God as he is the pillar of the world, he will deliver them.

Apostle Attipoe stated that the church has gone through a lot after the demise of the Founder, Prophet C. K. N. Wovenu, and even though leadership have been encouraging and supporting them, more encouragement and prayers was needed for them to be strong.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who presented a citation to the church, commended them for coming to the aid of his constituents during the Akosombo and Kpong Dam spillages.

The 2020 runing mate, Prof. Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang on behalf of the former President John Dramani Mahama presented GH¢15,000 to the church.

The women’s ministry wing of the church also inducted her into their fold for adhering to the church’s doctoring the moment she arrived at the venue.

She urged the congregation to use the occasion to pray for a peaceful election next year, so that the chosen one from God would take the country out of its current situation.
