Arrest 3 in connection with murder, fake currency

The police last Saturday, arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man and for being in possession of large quantities of fake currencies at Adjen Kotoku in the Ga West Municipal.

The suspects, Seidu Samyaley,28, Samuel Yormekpe 42, and Nicholas Atsidokpo Kade, 40 who were also in possession of fake gold bars are in the custody of the police assisting in investigations.

Other accomplices are on the run and being sought by the police.

A reliable police source disclosed these to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.

According to the source, police had information about the activities of the suspects and proceeded to AdjenKotoku near the onion market area and raided a land with two single rooms.

The police source said the team apprehended the suspects who were about to escape in a Toyota Corolla with registration number GW3409-19.

According to the source, a search in the rooms led to the discovery of eight large boxes and 15 metalic boxes containing over GH₵200,000 in 50 cedis denomination and $100 dollar notes together with white papers and gold bars.

The police source indicated that further search led to the discovery of a body buried under heaped sand at the backyard of the rooms which was later exhumed.

The body according to the police source had been conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The Toyota Corolla, fake currencies and metalic gold bars have been detained by the police.

The source indicated that the investigations into the case were ongoing, adding that suspects would soon be put before court.
