Armed robbers kill security man at Dzodze

Suspected armed robbers have killed Klutse Dzelu, a private security man, at Petroland Filling Station, located at Dzodze Camp near Seklekorpe in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta region.

The deceased, believed to be in his late 60s, was found dead with his hands tied to the back at the top floor of an office building with stores containing building materials.

Mr Wisdom Adorku, Station Manager of Petroland Filling Station and the hardware store, confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

Hesaid that on Sunday, May 2, at about 11pm, the robbers killed Dzelu, after torturing him with sharp objects while his arms were tied to his back.

The Station Manager said Dzelu was the only person on duty when the robbers raided the place, and that the robbers bolted with GHc 13,722 they took from the store and GHC 12,602 from the fuel station.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Christian Dogbatse, Ketu North Municipal Police Commander, who confirmed the story, said the body of  Dzelu has been taken to the St Anthony’s Hospital morgue, while investigations into the incident has commenced.

Mr Wemegah Gameli, owner of the filling station, appealed to the public to assist the police with relevant information that can lead to arrest of the unknown assailants.

No arrest has since been made yet.GNA
