Annor Walker in Algiers for CHAN draw

Black Galaxies Head Coach, Daniel Annor Walker has arrived in Algiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022 final draw to be conducted tomorrow at the Boualem Bessaiah Opera House.

Eighteen countries will participate in the tournament, marking a shift from the previous 16-country competition.

Ghana returns to the tournament after three consecutive misses by snatching the ticket away from rivals Nigeria early this month.

Coach Annor Walker leads Ghana’s delegation to the draw which will also have a star-studded list made up of former TotalEnergies African Nations Championship winners as well as Ghana’s Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu Badu who participated in the first edition of the tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

Speaking to Times Sports before departure yesterday, Coach Walker said he was ready for any country that is paired against Ghana.

“I don’t have any expectations for now, I am just ready for all the countries at the tournament.”

The tournament will begin from January 13 to February, 2023.

The participating countries include host nation Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Cote d’Ivoire, Niger, Cameroon, Congo and DR Congo.

The rest are Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Angola, Madagascar and Ghana.
